The Red Texas Cichlid is a hybrid fish that was developed by the cross breeding of Flowerhorn Cichlid (Cichlasoma sp.) and Texas Cichlid (Herichthys cyanoguttatus). The development of color goes through different stages of development. The start with a grey juvenile color and as they grow the grey fades and the become a golden red base color with blue pearls. This transition takes time and varies from fish to fish.
